StoryAn Afghan family that escapes from the ravages of the Soviet war in Afghanistan and settles in Karachi. A SSG officer who undergoes a personal tragedy and starts a private security company (Black Ops Pvt. Ltd) in Karachi. His SSG colleagues keep joining the company on their retirements. An idealist school master who suffers greatly under a cruel Feudal lord and settles in Karachi and finally the Feudal Lord who becomes the Chief Minister of Sindh and unleashes a reign of terror on all that cross his path. Maalik is a story of love, loyalty, honor, family value, idealism, courage and dignity against all odds, and across all sections of society from the poor and the struggling to the highest levels of wealth and power.

Music : The film has 4 songs composed by Sahir Ali Bagga. All songs are good and related to the situations.

Script : The dialogues and screenplay of the film is very good. The patriotic, humorous and romantic dialogues are unique and interesting.
Locations : The film is mostly shot in the northern areas and Balochistan. Every scenery is very beautifully captured and presented to the screen.

Camera Work/Cinematography : Maalik is visually stunning and the action scenes are picturized perfectly.
Acting : All the actors did justice to their role. Ashir Azeem inspired as a young Army officer. Hassan Niazi played a perfect villain and succeeded to be hated. Muhammad Ehtashamuddin was also impressive. Other actors had a small role and they played their roles very well.

Direction : Maalik is a cinematic treat and it is visually grand. Ashir Azeem inspired us in both acting and direction.

Editing : Editing could have been better to improve the film because there are some unnecessary scenes in the film which make the film a bit longer.
FINAL VERDICT : Maalik is a patriotic and emotional ride which will surely make you cry, laugh and will make you love your country. Suspense, action and its dialogues make it a must watch.
STRONGLY RECOMMENDED

RATING : 4/5
