MOVIE REVIEW : ISHQ POSITIVE

MOVIE REVIEW : ISHQ POSITIVE
Cast : Noor Bukhari, Wali Hamid Ali Khan, Saud, Saim Ali, Faria Bukhari, Durdana Butt, Sonu Sood (Special Appearance)
Director : Noor Bukhari
Release Date : 22nd July, 2016

Story : The story revolves around Rajjo (Noor Bukhari) who runs away from her wedding because she did not want to marry Chaudhry Bashir (Saud). Then she met Wali (Wali Hamid Ali Khan) who was engaged to Saud's sister. Wali convinced Rajjo to go back to Saud so that he can marry his sister. Then they both came back and the wedding preparations started. After sometime, they realized that they love each other.

Music : The soundtrack of the film has been composed by Kamran Akhtar, Wali Hamid Ali Khan and Saji Ali. Overall, the music is good but songs are not picturised very well. The expressions in the videos are not up to the mark.

Script : Though the writer Suraj Baba is a veteran writer but this film has a weak script. Most of the dialogues are childish. The funny dialogues in the film are not so funny but in the second half, there are a few good emotional dialogues. Screenplay is very weak.

Cinematography : Visually, this movie is very beautiful because the camera work is done very beautifully.

Acting : In the acting field, none of the actors did an overwhelming job because the script was very weak.

Direction : Ishq Positive is the directorial debut of Noor Bukhari. After this film, she should not direct any other film because she failed on the director's seat.

FINAL VERDICT : Ishq Positive is a decent watch to due to its music and the visual appearance. First half is very childish and it seems that the making was not taken seriously. The second half is better due to the love triangle and some emotional twists and turns. Overall, Ishq Positive is an average movie. It will be difficult for this film to earn good at the Boxoffice due to its weak promotions and a decent content.

MOVIE REVIEW : MAH-E-MIR

MOVIE REVIEW : MAH-E-MIR
Cast : Fahad Mustafa, Iman Ali, Sanam Saeed, Manzar Sehbai, Alyy Khan
Director : Anjum Shahzad
Release Date : 6th May, 2016

Story : The story revolves around an Urdu column writer and poet Jamal (Fahad Mustafa) who had financial difficulties due to other famous writers and poets. He fell in love with a girl (Iman Ali) who is also a poet. Dr. Kaleem (Manzar Sehbai) is a famous Urdu poet who helped Jamal and describe the life of Mir Taqi Mir (Famous Urdu poet). Jamal finds his life related to the life of Mir.

Music : The film has 4 songs which are unable to make a good impression. Piya Dekhan Ko sung by Shafqat Amanat Ali is good but it was not used well in the film.

Script : Mah-E-Mir is written by famous Urdu writer Sarmad Sehbai. The dialogues are very good but too much difficult Urdu for a common person to understand.
Cinematography : The camera work and cinematography is brilliant which makes it a visually grand and appealing film. The sunset, the clouds and moon are presented beautifully.

Acting : All the actors did justice to their role. Fahad Mustafa played the best role of his career. Iman Ali did not had enough space to perform. All other actors were also decent.

Direction : The direction is not impressive as there are some technical faults. The director failed to properly convey the message of the writer.

Editing : Editing could have been better. There are some unnecessary scenes in the film which makes the film a bit dragged.
FINAL VERDICT : Mah-E-Mir is a visually appealing film with some great actings. It lacks a public-friendly script therefore, the public will be unable to understand the message of the film. Manto was a similar type of film but it had simple Urdu dialogues. Overall, Mah-E-Mir is a decent film. Watch it for beautiful cinematography and the acting of Fahad Mustafa.

MOVIE REVIEW : HIJRAT

MOVIE REVIEW : HIJRAT
Cast : Asad Zaman, Rabia Butt, Nadeem Baig, Ayub Khoso, Jamal Shah, Rubab Ali
Director : Farouq Mengal
Release Date : 22nd April, 2016

Story : The story revolves around 'Murad' who lives in Turkey with his mother. His mother runs an NGO and she send Murad to Pakistan to prepare a report. He went to the Afghan refugee camps where he fell in love with a doctor named 'Jia'. He is already engaged and Jia is a widow, so he try to convince his family and Jia to marry her.

Music : The film has 5 songs which are composed by Sahir Ali Bagga. Sahir has done a great job and all songs are fresh and peppy.

Script : The dialogues and screenplay of the film is very poor. There are very few good dialogues in the film. The screenplay is also very weak.

Locations/Camera Work : The film is shot in Turkey and Balochistan. The cinematography (camera work) is very good and makes the film a visually appealing experience.

Acting : Almost all actors did a decent job because they did not had a good script to perform.

Direction : The film is visually very appealing but the direction seems a bit slow as the progress of the story is very slow. There are many illogical things happening during the film which does not make sense. For example, during a sad scene, the 'Jia' started imagining her wedding with his husband, where an item number is played which makes no sense. If the director wants to show that she is remembering her husband, he should have shown some romantic moments but what we saw was an item number.

Editing : Editing also remains a weak factor for the film as some of the important scenes are cut which makes no sense in the film. There are some unnecessary scenes in the film which should not be a part of the film. The romantic song 'Khush Aamdeed' should have been picturised on the lead actors but the song presented the meeting of Murad's parents.

FINAL VERDICT : Hijrat is visually appealing but lacks a good script. The music is good. The story was good but it was not presented well. Overall, Hijrat is an average movie.
